Magnadata is a ‘Global’ leading manufacturer of security print products, primarily for the mass transit industry and has been trading since the mid 1980’s.

In June 2000, a successful management buy-out team supported by London investment bankers Close Brothers acquired the business and re-branded the company into Magnadata International.

In true entrepreneurial style, Magnadata was driven towards the forefront of technology with the development of contact-less smartcards ready for todays emerging markets. The company’s portfolio of security print products now includes Smartcards, RFID Labels, Baggage Tags and Magnetic Tickets.

Manufacturing is conducted at two sites, Boston, UK and Sydney Australia, the Boston site being the main unit. Both sites compliment each other by using the combined mix of Flexographic and Lithographic printing in order to give the company the right combination in the printing market.

Technically, Magnadata thrives on playing a lead role in the market place. An example of this thirst to be at the leading edge of product development was the design and development of a range of new encoding machines. These “revolutionary” machines were able to personalise individual tickets, a process that allowed the customer to receive a tailored and professional service package.

The success of this new innovation led the company to invest in a new Encoding Bureau service which customers are able to access daily. This new service resulted in a huge increase in demand, so much so that a 24 hour “high security” encoding department was introduced to the market.
